World Bee Day 2024: We all depend on bees
World Bee Day (May 20 of each year) was designated by the United Nations to raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development.
It has long been noted that bees play a vital role in the environment by pollinating plants, supporting agriculture, promoting biodiversity, and also ensuring the survival of many plant species. Our lives would be much poorer without them.
We should all be mindful of them for their sake and ours.
